Jane Was Here and So Are You!!
We are thrilled to be hosting a Jane Austen-themed retreat in gorgeous Hampshire, Somerset, and Derbyshire, visiting the places that Jane Austen lived and wrote about, all while diving deeper into our own creativity.
We will start at the end of her life by visiting Jane Austen's grave in the town of Winchester, where we'll get to see where she spent her last days. Then, we'll dive deeper into her history by going to Jane Austen's House Museum in the charming village of Chawton, where Jane Austen did the bulk of her major writing. Nearby Chawton House, her brother Edward's home at the time, will be the site of our first writing workshop.
After spending time in her home, we'll travel to some of the sites connected to her legacy. Filming locations for both the 1995 BBC and 2005 film adaptations of Pride and Prejudice will feature in our tour--Stourhead House and Gardens, Lyme Park, Stanage Edge, and Chatsworth House. After exploring in these places, retreat attendees will have the chance to record thoughts and create beautiful pieces with art and writing workshops hosted by Lexi and Nicole.
Along the way, we'll stop in Bath, which features prominently in Persuasion and Northanger Abbey and was also a place that Jane herself spent a significant amount of time. While there, we will visit the Pump Rooms and the Jane Austen Centre, along with the Royal Crescent where we'll have the opportunity to paint and draw en plein air with Lexi guiding the group in expanding their creativity.
We hope you will join us in beautiful England as we retrace some of Jane's steps and inspire our own plumes, pens, and paintbrushes.
Please note that the minimum age for retreat participants is 13 years old.
Pricing
Single occupancy (private room): $3,250 plus applicable taxes
Double occupancy (shared room): $2,760 plus applicable taxes
Pricing for the trip includes:
